I started here as an assistant videographer and editor but then was promoted to lead videographer and video editor after one year. For a time after that, I produced, filmed, and edited monthly 30-minute episodes of this HG-TV-style home renovation show by myself. This gave me unique experience in production organization, scheduling, and budgeting using tools such as Monday, Slack, Frame.io, and Notion. Then our media team expanded and was able to hire a producer and videographer so that I could focus on editing and motion graphics. Before editing full-time, I spent my time here conceptualizing, filming, and editing video content for the Austin Flipsters YouTube channel (276k subscribers), creating thumbnails and analyzing YouTube analytics, and creating short-form video content for their TikTok and Instagram, as well as assisting in running these accounts. I also traveled to various project sites in and around Austin to acquire footage for all of the content we make using a Sony FX3, Canon 90D, and iPhone. ​Here I have gained experience in scripting, storyboarding, lighting, videography, copywriting, live audio capturing, social media management, and especially editing, sound design, color correction, graphic design, and 2D animation. I have also redesigned the logos and motion graphics for the Austin Flipsters brand and their new company Homemade using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects, and have made instructional video content for their course websites.

Here it's my job to assist with weekly cake production, inventory, and filling the display case. I also take and make custom cake orders.

 

Personal Assistant

As a personal assistant for Serena Loftus (a professor at Tulane University) and her family, I provide help with household cleaning, organization, and maintenance, occasionally assist with childcare, run various errands, and provide academic support by assisting in grading papers, proofreading research projects, organizing collected data, and various other projects involving Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. I will be relocating to Austin, TX with Serena early in the Summer of 2020.

At this job, I took reservations, organized seating arrangements and menus, greeted guests, and showed guests to their tables. This restaurant closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Editor/Videographer

At this temporary contract job, I used Adobe Premiere to edit promotional social media videos for our several clients. On some days, I traveled to multiple places in and around New Orleans to film interviews and b-roll footage with a Canon C-100. I was also responsible for creating motion graphics and lower thirds using After Effects and editing audio using Audition.

Director/Editor

Ocean 7 TV Studios - Ocean Springs, MS

​At this job, I was responsible for shooting and editing the weather segments, and then exporting and organizing the clips into the correct files. I positioned and focused the camera, operated the Tri-caster system (which controls the graphics, timer, fade to black, and green screen effects,) managed the lavalier microphones, and then used Sony Vegas and FileZilla to render each clip and push the files to the correct server for each station. I also typed closed captions for some of the segments. This required organizational and time management skills in order to get the weather segments sent off by the deadlines for the day.

 

Stage Crew (Volunteer)

South By Southwest - Austin, TX

Here it was my job to assure that every band playing the venue where I was assigned loaded their equipment in and out safely, efficiently, and on time. Each night there were 6 bands and they each played a on hour set back to back, so we had to organize their equipment and arrival and departure times so that the festival ran on schedule. We also assisted the bands in whatever help they needed with stage set-up, merch, wristbands, etc.

 

 

Film Camp Counselor (Internship)

Austin Film Festival - Austin, TX

June 2018 to July 2018

​For this seasonal internship, I served as an on-set producer for the campers' films and assisted in teaching them about pre-production, production, and editing. I supervised 9-18 year-olds and showed them how to use Celtx to write their scripts, operate the film equipment (cameras, tripods, recorders, boom mics, ) and edit their films in Final Cut Pro. I also made sure that everyone was checked in and out each day and that the groups stayed on schedule to complete their films by the end of the week.

Cake Decorator

January 2017 to January 2018

Here I learned to cut and decorate birthday cakes with buttercream icing for special orders and regular store inventory. I also answered phones, assisted customers, filled out order forms, and kept the decorating area clean and stocked. I quit this part-time job in January of 2018 in order to focus on film projects for school and finding a film internship.

This job involved taking orders, managing money, operating cash register, making ice cream sundaes, burgers and other items on the menu, opening and closing store front, and cleaning kitchen equipment, floors, windows etc. I quit this job because I needed to work somewhere with more schedule flexibility for my school responsibilities.
